Kauai Biking
Oahu biking can be both fascinating and frustrating. The roads are well paved, but the shoulders are often torn up. Traffic in and around Honolulu is very busy, and the only way to avoid it is to leave very early in the morning.
Bike path systems are still being developed in densely populated Oahu.
Kailua
on the Windward side recently added bike lanes through beach park areas and up the Pali Highway.
The City and County of Honolulu are developing a master plan for a bikeway system throughout the city. In the meantime, TheBus has free bike carriers on front; bikers can take the bus between biking points.
