Hawaii Helicopter Tours

Hawaii Helicopter Tours: Introduction | Oahu Helicopter Tour | Maui Helicopter Tour | Big Island Helicopter Tour | Kauai Helicopter Tour

Hanging loose with the helicopter pilot Hawaii helicopter tours are one of the best ways to experience Hawaii's spectacular vistas. Landscapes range from lush tropical rainforests to arid lava deserts to snow capped mountains. Every island offers them and every island has something special to offer.

What You Need To Know Before Booking Your Hawaii Helicopter Ride:

  1. With regard to photography, many helicopter companies equip their aircrafts with special video recorders mounted in the nose and along the sides of the helicopter. Some even have camera lenses mounted in the cockpit. As the pilot flies along he directs the taping, selecting the camera that offers the best view. At the end of your helicopter tour you're presented with a video tape of your actual flight to take home.

  2. Helicopter tours are over $100 per person but well worth it. Select a trip that is at least 45 minutes in length and departs in the mid to early morning.

  3. Be aware that Hawaii helicopter companies may cancel trips due to weather, so it is best to book for an early departure so you can make alternate plans early in the day.

  4. Don’t forget to bring your camera. Even if you are not the picture-taking type, buy a disposable and snap away. This helicopter tour experience will last a lifetime!

  5. If it is cloudy on the day of your Hawaii helicopter tour, make sure you call the helicopter company to confirm your trip. The helicopter companies sometimes cannot get in touch with passengers for one reason or another.

  6. Children 24 months and younger normally fly free! Children over 24 months are booked as adults.

  7. Most helicopter companies offer a complimentary hotel pickup from major hotels approximately 30 minutes prior to check-in time.

  8. Due to heightened security measures it is essential to have photo I.D. Carry-on items are limited to essentials (i.e. medical needs). International guests will be required to present their passport and photo I.D.

  9. If you weigh between 240 and 299 pounds, you may be asked to pay an additional fee of $100. And for passengers weighing over 300 pounds, expect to pay for an additional seat.
